Krupa Shah to unveil Karmic Connections – a collection of Abstract Art paintings focussing on the Sanctity of Marriage

Internationally renowned Mumbai-based, artist and painter Krupa Shah who recently showcased some of her work in Delhi at an event organized by artist and socialite Anjana Kuthalia, at The Gallery on M G Road in December, last year, has embarked on a very ambitious and interesting project. She is creating a collection of abstract art paintings under the banner of Karmic Connections, which will be a tribute to the sanctity of marriage and will depict or portray different forms or types of inter-personal relationships.

Says Krupa Shah:

I am embarking on a series of paintings as a tribute to the sanctity of marriage. Through a special event called Karmic Connections to be held in Delhi in March 2016, we are honoring couples who uphold their marriage vows and are ordained as “Made For Each Other”. Even singles who will give us their view point  on marriage and why they chose to either marry now or later will be part of the show.

So what exactly will Krupa Shah’s Made for Each OtherKarmic Connections collection include. “It will include abstract paintings related to marriage, strong relationships, strong bonding and the like which will be unveiled by me at Karmic Connections in Delhi,” she explains, hesitatingly, as she does not want to reveal everything right now. “You must visit the exhibition and see it for yourself. I am not going to share everything right now,” says Shah.

Speaking about the event held in Delhi, where she displayed 3 paintings, Krupa Shah says, “Colors have a different connectivity with human beings like green connects with nature and so on. The event was organized by a very dear friend Anjana Kuthalia and attended by celebs like Shekar Suman, Shalini Kochar and many others. It was a one day event aptly called Lotus Leela and portrayed successful women from different walks of life. I was really happy and privileged to be part of this path-breaking function. There was a fashion show and I walked the ramp while my paintings were on display.”

There were three specially selected paintings on display at the event in Delhi – all acrylic color on canvas. When asked why she prefers acrylic on canvas, she says, canvas has better durability. “I like to work with the best. Acrylic color gives an artist a lot of freedom.”

Earlier she had displayed 15 paintings in Delhi at the Sheraton. They were Stana, Omtatva, Eternityetc

Krupa Shah’s paintings have traveled around the globe and she has participated in shows and combined exhibitions at places like Dubai, Chicago, Delhi, Portugal, Lisbon, Pune, Calcutta, Mumbai.

Born and brought up in Mumbai, Krupa Shah has been artistically inclined since she was a little girl. She remembers being drawn towards color and canvas and discovering her own individual style as a teenager. However, it was recently – a few years ago, that she re-discovered her inborn passion for art in a way that she couldn’t look back. From a devoted mother to a dedicated artist, Krupa essays many roles in her life and she fulfills them all dutifully, she says.
